Step 1: Daily care
Before even thinking about washing, the first step in caring for your bras is their daily use.
- Air out your bras: it is possible to wear the same bra 2 to 4 times, but it is recommended to let it air out between wears.
- Do not wash your bras every day: unless in special circumstances such as hot weather or after a workout, a bra does not need to be washed after every use. Frequent washing can damage elastic and fabric.
- Do not leave your bras crumpled at the bottom of a drawer: this can deform cups and underwires.
Step 2: Gentle washing
Washing is one of the main causes of bra wear. To keep your lingerie in good condition for as long as possible, it is important to follow the care instructions on the label. In our article How to wash your bras without damaging them?, we explain the meaning of all bra care labels.

- Handwashing with lukewarm water and a mild detergent should be preferred.
- If you prefer to wash your bras in the washing machine: avoid high temperatures and reduce spin speed. Use a laundry bag and close the clasp.
- Avoid the tumble dryer: high temperatures can deform or even destroy your bras. Using the dryer is one of the top bra maintenance mistakes to avoid.
Step 3: Proper and careful storage
Storage is often overlooked, but improper storage can damage bra cups and underwires.

- Do not fold the cups into one another to avoid crushing the padding.
- Store bras flat in a drawer or on a hanger to prevent damage.
Even on vacation, it is important to store your lingerie properly in your suitcase. Place your underwear last in the suitcase and feel free to use practical accessories such as individual pouches.
Step 4: Follow our tips
To extend the lifespan of your bras while preserving their characteristics – color, shape, elasticity – follow these practical tips:
- Choose the correct bra size: a bra that is too tight or too loose will wear out faster.
- Have at least 4 to 7 bras in your lingerie collection to avoid wearing the same ones too often.
- Select bras adapted to each activity, with fabrics suited to your movements and needs.
