Is swimsuit sizing different from your usual size?
When it comes to choosing the right size for your bikini or swimsuit top, there’s no need to start from scratch. You can simply rely on your usual lingerie size. Swimsuit tops are generally designed using the same standards as bras, with similar cup sizes and band measurements. This means that if you usually wear a 34C, there’s a strong chance that the same size will fit you perfectly in a swimsuit top. Choosing your usual size not only saves time but also ensures optimal support and comfort, just like your favorite lingerie.

What measurements should you take to find your swimsuit size?
To choose a perfectly adapted swimsuit, three measurements are essential: bust circumference, waist circumference, and hip circumference. Use a flexible tape measure and take your measurements directly on the skin, without tightening too much.
Bust circumference
This measurement is key, especially for swimsuit tops.
- Underbust circumference: measure just below the bust, perfectly horizontal.
- Bust circumference: measure at the fullest part of your chest (passing over the nipples).
These two measurements allow you to determine your cup size and ensure good support, especially for models with underwires or molded cups.
Waist circumference
Measure your waist circumference at the narrowest part of your abdomen, generally just above the belly button. This measurement is particularly important for high-waisted bottoms or one-piece swimsuits.
Hip circumference
Take the measurement at the widest part of your hips and pelvis. This guarantees a good fit for the swimsuit bottom, without it being too tight or gaping.

How to choose your size according to the type of swimsuit?
Not all types of swimsuits fit the same way. Here are some pointers:
- Triangle bikini: often adjustable, it offers more flexibility if you are between two sizes.
- Underwired swimsuit top: prioritize your exact bra size for good support.
The Speekaboo Shape underwired swimsuit top enhances the décolleté thanks to its shaping cut, accented with an elegant golden trim.
- Bandeau swimsuit: it must be well-fitted so as not to slip, especially if you wear it strapless.
The Barbade bandeau swimsuit top charms with its freshness, featuring bold and delightful colored patterns.

- One-piece swimsuit: take your torso length into account; if you are tall, a size up may be more comfortable. Highly appreciated for its flattering cut, the one-piece swimsuit also exists in a shaping version: discover our article on the shaping swimsuit, its role and its differences from a classic model.
The Palm Cove one-piece swimsuit offers a chic and retro look, enhanced by silver sparkles and a textured material.

- High-leg swimsuit bottom or high-waisted swimsuit briefs: adapt according to your hip circumference and your coverage preference.
The Elevated Basics high-waisted swimsuit briefs are an essential that combines great coverage and style without compromise.
Advice if you are between two swimsuit sizes
If according to your measurements or your feeling, you are between two sizes, here is how to make the right choice:
- Always prioritize the bust: if your top is too small, the support will not be sufficient and you will quickly feel uncomfortable.
- Opt for the size up if the fabric has little stretch or if the model is structured.
- Choose adjustable models such as those with an adjustable back, ties, or modular straps to adapt more easily to your curves.
- Avoid overly minimalist cuts which are not adapted to large busts.
A good swimsuit must support you even when you move, swim, or bend over.
