Size is key information for knowing everything about bras. However, did you know that about 8 out of 10 women do not wear the right bra size? And yet, a well-fitted model makes all the difference: your silhouette is enhanced, you feel comfortable every day, and you preserve your posture. Choosing your bra correctly is therefore essential.
To know if you are wearing the right bra size, simply observe how it positions itself on your body… Here are some indications!
At the end of the article, find THE collection that echoes your questions!
1. The back: it must remain perfectly horizontal
The back of your bra must remain straight and parallel to the ground, without rising towards the shoulder blades. If it rises, it may be a sign that your back measurement is too large, and that the straps are compensating for the lack of support.
A little tip, you should be able to slide two fingers under the back elastic, but no more.
2. The straps: neither too tight nor too loose
The straps are not supposed to support the entire weight of the chest: they complement the support provided by the back.
Too tight, they risk leaving marks and being uncomfortable on the shoulders. Too loose, they risk falling down and not supporting your chest correctly.
3. The cups: neither empty nor overflowing
The cups should fit your chest without compressing it and without creating folds in the fabric or undesirable gaps. If your chest overflows from the top or sides, you probably need a larger cup size. Over time, it may even cause pain or injury, so be vigilant. If, on the contrary, the fabric gapes, the cup is too large.
4. The underwires: they should surround, not cut
The underwires must naturally follow the contour of your breasts, from underneath to the armpit. If they sit on your chest instead of your ribcage, your cup is too small or poorly positioned. A well-positioned underwire does not hurt, does not rub, and is easily forgotten.
5. The bridge (or center gore): it must touch the sternum
This small piece in the center of the bra should rest flat against your sternum. If it lifts, it is usually a sign that the cup is too small or that the shape does not suit your chest. A flat center gore means good support and an optimal fit.
