Are you a big fan of beautiful lingerie? Do you want to keep your underwear looking good for as long as possible? There's no particular secret – you just need to look after it! Your underwear is often made from fine, delicate materials such as lace, which need particular care. Here are a few tips for pampering your lingerie and avoiding any disasters.
This is the basic rule: if you have any doubts at all about how to care for a product, refer to the symbols on the label before you start; this should avoid any damage.
hand wash
Wash your lingerie in lukewarm water using a neutral detergent or a product designed for washing silk, then rinse thoroughly. Be careful not to twist the fabric when wringing out your underwear: gently squeeze it between your fingers so it does not lose its shape or elasticity. To avoid any accidents, we recommend using two towels: place your lingerie on one of them and cover it with the other one. Press down so that the towels absorb the moisture. It's easy and less risky!
wash at low temperature
If you decide to machine wash your lingerie, you must use a delicates cycle (30°). Pop your lingerie into a laundry bag and don't forget to fasten the bras so that the hooks don't damage part of the lace or embroidery.
Never use products containing chlorine, whitening agents, bleach or fabric softener. This products may damage the fibres, turn them yellow, cause allergic reactions or reduce the elasticity of garments, which could affect their supportive qualities.
sort your underwear by colour
We know this takes a little time but it's crucial for keeping the colour of your underwear intact.
Its high temperature is your lingerie's worst enemy! What's the risk? It could weaken the fine materials, change the colour, affect the elasticity, damage the moulded cups or wear out the fabric covering the underwires. To avoid this, it's best to air-dry your lingerie. Our tip: lay your lingerie flat on a clean and dry towel. Whatever you do, don't hang it on a hanger or drying rack as this could mark it or damage it!
Even at low temperatures, using an iron is a definite no-no! Avoid ironing your underwear so it doesn't get scorched or damaged.
put your plus size bras away carefully
It's essential to put your lingerie away carefully to avoid damaging it. For example, moulded cup bras can quickly lose their shape if they are squashed: to avoid this kind of problem, we would recommend fitting them inside one another.
